Theres several key features that everybody should look for when hiring a DJ.

DJing is an Art

You can’t really base anything on price alone. Usually the more expensive the DJ is, the more experience, and the better your event will be. but this is not the case all of the time.

Keep this in mind when asking for discounts. Think about it. If you think you can hire some guy for $100, how much experience do you really think they have? Not just that, but how good are the speakers and lights going to be as-well? What you’re probably going to get is a some kid that bought some speakers from a garage sale, that will throw you a party for $100. The system will probably not be loud enough, or too loud. They won’t have lights, or if they do, very simple cheap lights. They’ll have an incomplete music collection and probably next to no knowledge of music.

Friendly and Appreciative

If the DJ that you’re hiring doesn’t look friendly, what are the chances that he/she will be at the event. The last thing that you want is a depressed middle aged man yelling at everyone. While not a common scenario, it might happen. You never know.  :-)

Professional

You want somebody that appears professional. Everything from their website, business cards, to attire. If their website looks like it was made in ’95. What does that tell you about the company. Keep this in mind when looking for disc jockey services.

How to chose the perfect DJ

Ultimately, everything comes down to money. You want the best of the best, buy you’re not looking to spend $1500 for a sweet-16 party. So look at something moderately priced. Take advantage of newer companies as they usually give big discounts!

In conclusion

That’s the short list of what you should look for.

Theres a lot more. Subscribe to the blog, i’ll keep everybody updated so they can choose the best service for their needs.

AKA you need them!

I am sure that all of you like to go to parties every once in a while. Parties are a good place where people can socialize and mingle. But some parties can be really boring even if the food is good and the music and the other things are great as well. The thing that these parties lack is atmosphere. If you will want to get a really nice party going then you should invite people to have fun. You should not force them to get on the dance floor but you should make them feel comfortable about dancing. The best way of doing this is to avoid letting the lights on.

Lights are really important at parties because they can make people feel better about getting on the dance floor. Lights might also be able to introduce a certain feeling in people that will want to dance. Mild lights can really make people go and dance slowly and talk things about themselves. Let us not mention that this is a really romantic thing. More ‘aggressive’ lights will make people dance really fast. Of course, these lights should be selected depending to the music that plays at that party.

The most important thing about lights at parties is that they can create a certain mood. If you want people to jump up and down and rave then you should use some really flashy and powerful lights. They should also be colorful. You can use spot lights and also lasers. Lasers are really popular as party lights! If you will want to create a calm mood then you should use little light and use warm lights. This will make a really calm and romantic mood and you will see how people will start dancing in a really romantic way.

But you should know that lights need to be in direct connection with the music. If you will play slow music you shouldn’t use flashy and fast lights. This will only ruin the mood of some people who would probably want to have a nice slow and romantic dance. This means that even if the lights are really important at a party they should not be used in the wrong way because in this case they will only manage to annoy lots of people instead of creating the perfect mood for a party!

Anytime you will attend a party you should check out the lighting. The lights are the ice breaker at any party where people don’t really know each other.

Here it is, the infamous on-air radio clip that started it all.

Her name is Arnetta the Moodsetta, the radio station from Atlanta.

Listen to it below:

iquitthisbitch

If you ever thought about quitting a job and letting everybody know, do it on the radio! While she will never get hired as a radio DJ again, she doesn’t care and why should she? Most get paid minimum wage and is not worth the hassle when there is better jobs out there.

She got paid $6 an hour by her employer to entertain a whole city. Ultimately dropping a few curse words on live radio and walking away.

Enjoy!

Now that ITCH 2.0 is out, you can finally take that NS7 from your garage and use it, the way it was meant to be used! With the SP-6 sample deck! In previous versions of ITCH, Serato came out with some updates and hidden Easter eggs that not many people know about. I’ll go over some of those below.

How do you use the SP-6? Unfortunately Serato didn’t map it out the actual controller. If you know how to use the SP-6 in Scratch Live, you’ll be a pro here. Basically, it’s the same thing. First step is to click the little button that says SP6, it will extend the screen and 6 different sample decks will display. Drag-n-drop your favorite song or sound to each deck. To activate the decks you have to use your keyboard. The individual decks are mapped out to the keyboard keys (Z,X,C,V,B,N) so the 1st deck = Z, second = X and so on… You will have to press the caps lock button to use it, or hold shift while pressing the buttons. Unfortunately, there is no sync functionality, so if you change the pitch on a deck, the sample deck will go completely off beat. So this is really only useful for DJ drops, horns, and sirens.

There are a lot of shortcuts and secrets most people never even heard of, and they came out months ago! These can be done with any version of Itch and most of them aren’t limited to only one controller. They are listed below:

Super Filter – You don’t even need any FX units! The secret is move the treble and bass knobs from one end to the other, eventually ITCH will display a message: “You are now a level 1 filter junkie, to unlock the 1 knob filter press ALT+, You have 30 seconds” So press ALT and comma at the same time, and the bass knob will be a lowpass and highpass filter! This is particularly useful for fading out songs or creating buildups.

Loop Roll – This is only for the NS7. The delete key acts as a shift button. If you hold down the delete key, and press one of the looping buttons, you create a loop roll. The song will keep looping, but will still keep playing. When you release the button, it will release it in a later part of the song. This is perfect for adding your own buildups in mixes and just adds to your mix in general.

Hide your tracks – Don’t you hate it when people put their face on the screen and try to see what song is coming up next? Well the good folks at Serato thought about this. You can easily hide what song is in what deck and nobody will know. Simply click the BPM marker, type “AM” and away it goes. This is useful in all types of situations as sometimes people can make your job difficult and this hopefully lets them leave in a state of confusion, not coming back.

Dj Tiesto PerformingWhat is a party without some fun and singing and dancing? Yes a boring party where guests maybe struggling to survive. Now if a little mixes of singing and dancing were added to your birthday party or wedding reception or even some other ceremony, that would be a party to remember! So, who can do this job perfectly? That’s what disc jockeys are for. Their job is to mix a little song from here and a little from there and produce this wonderful music that will force you to move your legs to the beat. Although it may seem like a very enjoyable job, the work of disc jockeys is not as simple as it sounds. Their job may seem like only mixing songs, but there is so much more to doing just that.

Would you like to become a Disc Jockey?

There are many different types of disc jockeys who play different roles. Radio jockeys do not just play songs, they also engage themselves in a conversation with listeners, take up their song requests, look for those songs and play it for them too. Moreover, they also take up dedications and sometimes even provide some feasible solution to the problem that any listener might share with the jockey. Any jockey needs to be extremely organized and know where his songs are placed so that without missing a second, he can play the song at the request of a listener or simply play it as part of his job. They must be able to coordinate with what is playing currently and what will be played once this number gets over. They have to be on their toes all the time, ready to move, ready to jive and ready to entertain their listeners.

If you are looking forward to becoming a disc jockey, there is no formal training that can actually make you a popular one. You need to have this desire from within. Disc jockeys have a connection with music and they love the sound of everything and feel like they can transform it to music. However, there are certain formal training classes for jockeys who are new in the field to brush up their organizing skills. This is a very practical job and you get to learn so much on the field. If you play music that is not appealing to the people present in a party, you can feel the pulse of the party going down and it will be your responsibility to take it to a higher level. You will have to come up with bright ideas about what songs to choose to brighten the mood of the people present there.

Being a disc jockey is fun in its own way. You get to do what you like best about music and also make others move to the beats that you produce. It is a talent that everyone does not possess but you can cultivate a lot from experience. If you have the desire to become one, then you may begin by watching professionals at the job and make your own little experiment at your friend’s birthday parties or any other small party for that matter.

Disc jockeys are very popular at almost every event today. You will learn the different types of disc jockeys in arizona. You will probably find them at almost every party because a DJ is what it takes to get the mood rocking at a party and to get your guests to move a step or two at the beat of good music. The job of a DJ is to mix music and play those that will appeal to the people present in the room.

The job is a difficult one because he/she has to feel the pulse and then quickly identify what kind of songs the people standing in the room would like to listen to and then play it in an enjoyable sequence. This sequence is for the DJ to arrange according to the taste of the people partying there. Being passionate about music may help in this case because then a DJ can do the right thing by combining the right kind of music. However, disc jockeys can be categorized based on a lot of factors. Here is some of the variety that you may have seen:

  • Mobile disc jockeys: You may find these DJs in receptions, get-togethers, non-profit functions, banquets or even other ceremonies. Usually these jockeys have a wide variety of MP 3 music and have their very own equipment as well as loudspeakers that they carry to each function that they perform in. They might also receive a song request during the party and play them with their own little twist. They may also take up the entire event management upon themselves.
  • Nightclub disc jockeys: You will find them in the nightclubs in your city or town. These jockeys play music for the night clubs alone or for cafes, athletic bars, raves, discotheques and casinos. These DJs use very different styles and approaches when it comes to their job. It is so much different from the mobile disc jockeys. They work with music that helps raise the stamina among the audience. Their work is more focused on blending different beats and matching bpm. These jockeys may also hire equipment instead of carrying their own around for each event.
  • Rap Disc Jockeys: this group of jockeys produces music with the help of turntables and other equipment. The songs that these DJs play could be chosen by the party organizers. DJ is actually mixing audio along with graffiti and break dancing. This is what fulfills the entire concept. Rap on the other hand had originated from the slang expression that actually meant a conversation.
  • Radio Disc Jockeys: These jockeys usually pick and play music for a local audience. Mostly they are the broadcast listeners i.e. the music that they produce is broadcast via airwaves to different local listeners. Moreover, they also sometimes have a conversation with the audience in order to connect with them. They also take in requests and dedications from the audience and also sometimes offer solution to a problem that the listeners might have.

No matter what type of disc jockey he/she is, the ultimate thing that matters is how much the audience enjoyed from their performance. Good disc jockeys are able to connect with the audience in a very short while.

Disc Jockey in phoenixHow much more fun can you make your party when there is good music, along with great friends and awesome food! How long can your party afford to be a formal and quiet one? With disc jockeys you can turn the mood around for some fun and frolic. Everyone enjoys a good beat and some great moves at a party where they can just let go of themselves and relax. DJs can simply give your party a twist that you will remember for quite a few days even after the party. These people know exactly what you want to treat your guests with and also what your guests may be looking for. There are many disc jockeys for different occasions. Sometimes, you may find jockeys who have the experience of playing at weddings as well as other parties, but sometimes jockeys only have specific experiences that you may not be able to utilize. It is best if you can find a disc jockey who is experienced at all sorts of events.

It is very important that disc jockeys have a good knowledge about music. By music it means all genres and not just the genre where he/she belongs to. You never know what sort of a party may require a jockey to maneuver the moods of the people with the help of music. A nice wedding reception can have disc jockeys playing soft romantic music so that everyone can move a step or two and sway to the music. Then the music may be promoted to something livelier and with more beats so that guests can move a bit faster. Dancing can help you relax because it takes out all the negative energy that may be stored inside you and helps you unwind.

The kind of training that disc jockeys have had is also very important in deciding how they might perform at an event. Some jockeys have a natural talent where they know exactly what music to mix to produce the kind of music that they do to appeal to the others. However, others undergo trainings at schools and acquire or enhance their knowledge. Both are good if they can actually perform during the event. It is also a lot about experience. The more events the disc jockeys participate in, the more they get to know what kind of music catches people’s pulse. Not everyone’s choice in music is the same. The disc jockeys job is to create such an ambience through music that the people have no choice but to move to the beats. That is a sign of a good disk jockey.

Everyone cannot be a disc jockey. He/she needs the right attitude and the right kind of personality to become a good jockey. Disc jockeys need to connect with their audience and the only medium that they have is their music and their personality. With the right kind of attitude, they can make the party so much more enjoyable that you could imagine. Depending on the age group and the kind of party that is going on, disc jockeys need to set their moods accordingly.

Dj Service in PhoenixNow I’m sure that this won’t be the first time you’ll ever experience a DJ, because all us have saw one, whether it was at a wedding, a school dance, or even a festival of sorts. But if you’re living near Phoenix and you’re looking for DJ, I’m going to help you find the best DJ service in Phoenix just for you, and I’m going to tell you how to choose the service that you want. This is going to include research, holding interviews and asking for portfolios, general referrals (which is kind of like what I’m doing now), and of course the one thing that makes the decision for every one looking for DJ service in Phoenix, is the price right.

Know there are many kinds of DJs that you could possibly hire for your event, there would be the DJs that play the oldies and played the family music, or the ones that play music that are on the more risqué side of things. Now when it comes to finding this DJ service in Phoenix, you’d of coarse want the DJ to be local and that’s what I have for you today, but I’ll save that part last. Checking online and checking the yellow pages is a good place to start when looking for a DJ service in Phoenix. Although this may seem as if it is the most efficient way, you should conduct interviews and look at portfolios to see what these DJs have to offer before hiring them.

When interviewing a DJ for your party, you should heavily consider what type of songs they play, and the songs that they are willing to play as this will help you determine whether the DJ service in Phoenix is right for your certain event. You wouldn’t want to be playing 1950s and 60s music at a party just for teenagers, we wouldn’t want to play 1990s and new hip-hop at a retirement party. So you can see that what the DJ offers song wise is very crucial in selecting a DJ.

And now for the part that you’ve all been waiting for, the referral section. The referral is probably the most trusting testimonial when it comes to selecting a DJ service in Phoenix. What makes this referral system so trustworthy, is that it’s coming from one’s personal experience not an advertisement. Or furl will tell you what kind of music that will play, the pricing, how they were at the party professional wise at all the things that you need to know about a good DJ. Well the DJ service in Phoenix I’ve mentioned quite a few times in this article is Live AZ DJ. When it comes to a good DJ service in Phoenix, I believe my company is the one to choose for your party.

A good DJ service in Phoenix is very difficult to find at times. With the varying possibilities of what this DJ can offer, combined with the pricing that he’s going to give you, this makes for very difficult combination of variables to select the right DJ service in Phoenix. But having already gone over what you should require from a good DJ service in Phoenix, I will now go over a DJs importance to a party or event.

At parties especially retirement parties or birthday parties held in the banquet halls, a DJ is extremely needed in order to make this party worthwhile and worth the money spent renting out the hall. You may be thinking “well I already spent a lot of money on the banquet hall, why would I need to hire a DJ?” Let me explain to you the possibilities of the party without a DJ.

Imagine a soundless night–where all you hear is talking and silverware clanging together. There is an empty dance floor in the middle of the hall in which no one dares enter or cross. As everyone finishes their dinner, people begin to leave only one hour into the party. When asking them why they’re leaving, they tell you that because the party is a little boring and now that the meal is over they wish to go home but thank you for hosting a party. A DJ service in Phoenix specializes in turning these kinds of parties in two complete opposites in making the guests want to stay and party and dance.

The importance of a DJ service in Phoenix means that any event in Phoenix can be provided with a great DJ to save you from miserable nights such as the one described in the paragraph before. Live AZ Dj is a premier DJ service in Phoenix that can offer you a great time, a great price, and is an opportunity that shall not be passed up, trust me you won’t regret it!
